Life rarely goes as planned

I wanted to blog yesterday , I tried for hours to find something I was passionate about or actually wanted to speak about and kept coming up empty , so eventually I gave up.

It’s 4 am and I’m lying in bed staring at the ceiling where I can see the outline of my vision board and thinking that Life rarely goes as planned.

It wasn’t my plan to meet my fiance the day I did or in the way I did. I certainly wasn’t looking for love as I had decided that I was going to work on myself.

It was certainly not my plan to start my own law practice just a few months after finishing law school.

It wasn’t my plan to be struggling with my weight over the last couple years.

It wasn’t my plan to be randomly writing this blog at this time either as the plan was to write about Love since it’s February.

I’ve said all of this to say that Life rarely goes as planned. And a lot of the times , the unexpected or unplanned things that happen in our lives are much more rewarding than the plans we had in mind.

Though it wasn’t the plan I’ll be marrying the man I love in a few months.

Though it wasn’t the plan I am proud to have my own law practice today.

Though it wasn’t the plan to have taken this long , I have lost a lot of weight and plan to continue on my fitness journey. I am also living a much healthier lifestyle than I was when I was comfortable with my weight.

Though it wasn’t the plan I am very happy with the content of this blog.

Some decisions require extensive planning , but sometimes even after all the planning your life may take an unexpected turn. Sometimes all you can do is grab an oar and row.

The pandemic has reminded us that tommorow is not promised and that plans may change in the blink of an eye.

An old Yiddish proverb says “ We plan , God laughs” or more popularly “ If you want to make God laugh , tell him about your plans”.

Life rarely goes as planned but there is always a plan.

If you enjoyed this blog , Please like , share and feel free to comment and share what hasn’t gone as planned for you.

Have a great day loves. Be blessed. Xoxo

  1. 2020 has certainly been an eye opener. We can plan and hope but things unfold in God’s time and in his way, very often, not the way we expect. My teaching assignment was not what I was expecting for the last year but God knew better. He always makes a way. He affirms this in Jeremiah 29:11.
May He continue to bless and guide you Akelia.
